Mlezu Agricultural College is a government vocational training institution dedicated to advance agricultural knowledge and skills. Established in 1958, The institution was established to equip the next generation of farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs, and industry leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary for sustainable agriculture.
Currently, the college operates under the Department of Agricultural Education in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development and offers Diploma in Agriculture and customized Farmer Training short courses. It’s affiliated with the Midlands State University.

The Administration Department is the backbone of Mlezu Agricultural College, overseeing daily operations, institutional policies, and coordination between departments. It ensures efficiency in service delivery, compliance with regulations, and smooth functioning of academic and support services.
The Admissions Department manages student enrollment, guiding prospective students through the application and selection process. It ensures transparency, fairness, and efficiency in admitting candidates who meet the college’s academic and practical training requirements.
Our accounts department is dedicated to managing the organization's financial resources effectively and efficiently. Our team of experienced professionals oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to ensure the financial health and sustainability of our organization.
The Human Resources Department manages staff recruitment, development, and welfare, fostering a productive work environment. It ensures compliance with labor regulations and promotes professional growth within the institution.
The college farm is 1712.2ha. The farm section is divided into three main sectors: Horticulture, livestock, and field. The farm is predominantly sandy loam except for some 50ha of red clay soil in the Hodson Area. The topography of the farm is largely undulating and becomes fairly broken southeast towards the Mlezu River.
Most of the water is from farm dams for both domestic and stock supply. There are 17 dams altogether. The largest having a capacity of 680 000m3 which supplies the irrigation water for the farm.
The discipline aims at empowering students to view farming as a business. It brings to reality the concept of using resources to their maximum capacity, paying attention to their limitations to ensure sustainable use while aiming for profit.
The section falls under 0.4ha and specializes in student training on how to manage horticultural crops from nursery to value addition. Crops growncompriseof leaf, fruit, root, and tuber vegetables. Drip irrigation is used to water the crops. There is also an orchard with mango, guava, oranges, lemon and naartjies.
